1. To begin your Nissan Intelligent Key programming journey, you need to sit in your Nissan with the doors locked.
2. Put your key into the ignition without starting the engine, then remove the key. You will need to do this six times minimum, ten times maximum. When your Nissan accepts the Intelligent Key, your hazard lights will blink twice to let you know that you’ve entered program mode.
3. Now that you are in program mode, follow the rest of the Nissan Intelligent Key Programming Instructions. Put your key back into the ignition and turn it slightly without starting the engine. Your electrics should turn on without starting the car.
4. At this point, you want to press any button on your Nissan Intelligent Key. You need to be prompt, as the receiver is waiting for an immediate response.
5. Get out of your Nissan and stand a fair distance away to test your key. If the lights flash and your horn beeps once, you have successfully programmed your Nissan Intelligent key.
6. Now, test your key by standing closer to your Nissan to try your doors. They should unlock without you having to press any buttons at all.

How to Replace the Battery in a Nissan Key Fob

Before you get started, make sure that you have a new CR2032 battery on hand! You can find one at our parts department, or at general stores near Turnersville and Woodbury. Now, let’s take a look at the full process:

How to Open the Nissan Key Fob

1. Look on the back of your key fob for a small release tab.
2. Press on this tab and remove the metal key from the housing. The key is usually found at the point where your key fob meets your key ring.
3. Now, use a small flathead screwdriver to pry open the key fob housing. This is usually easiest if you insert the screwdriver into the space where your metal key used to be.

Don’t forget: if your Nissan Intelligent Key is out of battery, you can use the metal key to access the inside of the vehicle.

How to Replace the Battery

Learning how to replace the battery in the Nissan key fob is even easier than learning how to open it. Just pop out the old battery, replace it with a new CR2032 battery, and make sure that the positive side of the new battery is facing down. Then, press the two sides of the housing back together and return the metal key to its original place.
