What’s New for the 2025 Nissan Frontier?
The midsize Nissan Frontier delivers a healthy balance between functionality and ruggedness. At the same time, it delivers strong styling and a smart combination of features across its trim level, making it a leading option for truck shoppers to consider. The 2025 Frontier benefits from numerous updates to the interior and exterior, elevating its appeal.
The updates begin on the exterior with the debut of Afterburn Orange as a paint color option. The Frontier is now offered an optional 6-foot bed with the crew cab layout for all but the base trim level. In addition, the PRO-X and PRO-4X models now sport an updated wheel design and modernized styling for the front bumper and grille.
All trims are equipped with a V6, 3.8-liter engine, which produces 310 horsepower and features a nine-speed auto transmission. The rear-wheel drivetrain can be switched to four-wheel drive for added functionality. The 2025 Nissan Frontier’s towing capacity has increased to 7,150 pounds, 500 pounds more than the 2024 version. The PRO-X and PRO-4X come with a locking rear differential, Bilstein shock absorbers, a skid plate, a roll bar, all-terrain tires, and mud flaps.
For the first time, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen is optional inside. For the SV, PRO, and SL trim levels, the Frontier adds standard features like powered lumbar adjustment for the driver’s seat, an upgraded steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, and wireless Android Auto. For all trims, several driver assist technologies become standard. These include adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, and a lane departure warning.
Other aspects of the Nissan Frontier are unchanged from the 2024 version. The base trim continues to have smartphone app integration, cloth seats, a forward collision warning, and USB ports. The higher trims and optional packages add two household power outlets, a spray-in bedliner, under-rail bed lighting, adjustable tie-down cleats, heated front seats, remote start, leather upholstery, a Fender sound system, wireless internet connectivity, a sunroof, and more.
